Last weekend our family went out to Joshua Tree.
Camped in the desert, enjoyed the alien-looking plant life all armed with spikes and thorns. Did some off-road four wheeling, which was a first for Sam (and for Ally-dog.)

Some campsites are amidst huge boulders, with campfire flickering and reflecting from the rock walls giving the impression of peyote-induced visions of other-worldly forces just out of site in the darkness. Unfortunately, over-crowding and cars driving through spoil the effect.
