I’m interested in principles of evolution and development at all scales, trends at the intersection of technology and society, enhancement of human cognitive and physical capabilities, and related philosophy of science, reason and metaethics.
I have strong technical skills in software development, text analytics, natural language processing, data-mining and twenty-plus years as a technical manager in scientific instruments in the fields of microscopy and spectroscopy.
Lizbeth and I live in the Sierra foothills near Auburn, CA. I’m father to two children and stepfather to another (all grown and on their own), and grandfather to three.
I enjoy collecting paradoxes, illusions, and perceived dichotomies. I also enjoy motorcycling, 4WD, camping, amateur radio, and practicing preparedness skills.
